Endorse the Basque Declaration

We invite the Mayors of all European cities and towns to endorse the Basque Declaration as a framework of principles for the transformation of societies by approving it in their municipal plenaries or their relevant meetings. Endorsing the Basque Declaration means actively supporting a transformation towards productive, sustainable and resilient cities and towns.

The Basque Declaration outlines new pathways for European Cities and Towns to create productive, sustainable and resilient cities for a liveable and inclusive Europe. The document aims to support and accelerate socio-cultural, socio-economic and technological transformation. The Basque Declaration was acclaimed by the participants of the 8th European Conference on Sustainable Cities & Towns held in the Basque Country from 27-29 April 2016.

The text of the Basque Declaration mainly addresses cities and city leaders. As it calls for active engagement of civil society, individuals are also welcome to endorse the document. Please note that not all individual endorsers will be listed publicly.
